Becky Wilde shares her Olympian rowing skills at TRC

Olympic medallist, Becky Wilde, shared her rowing skills with Taunton Rowing Club members on Sunday morning. Becky (26) from Taunton, who won a Bronze medal in the women’s double sculls with Mathilda Hodgkins Byrne, joined club members in a coxed quad down the River Tone from French Weir Park to Firepool. She also posed for selfies and chatted to everyone about her life as an elite sportswoman. 

Club Captain Chris Kurton said: “We were delighted that Becky offered to come down to the club. Our younger members, in particular, were inspired by her rowing ability and thrilled to meet an Olympic medallist.”

Taunton’s clubhouse is at COACH in French Weir Park. It has members aged 13 to 80 and holds regular sessions on the Toneon Saturday, Sunday and Tuesday mornings and Thursday evenings (in summer).
